A 12-year-old boy, Raja, was killed by a crocodile in an unfortunate incident at a local village, authorities have confirmed. His body was found in the river Friday morning following an extensive search prompted by his disappearance.
The boy's family contacted the police after he failed to return home, leading to the discovery of his bicycle and slippers near the riverbank. During the search, police and villagers discovered Raja's body in the water, close to a crocodile that had attacked while he played near a stone crusher.
Buggawala Station House Officer Inspector Ankur Sharma stated the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. The incident has heightened anxiety over child safety in the community, especially near water bodies known for crocodile presence.
