Delhi has experienced a notable increase in fire-related emergencies, with April seeing a dramatic 73% rise from March. Official records indicate 32 deaths in these incidents from January to April.

The Delhi Fire Services registered 2,663 fire calls in April, a sharp increase from 1,538 in March and 1,096 in February. Further analysis suggests that rising temperatures and an uptick in garbage fires contribute to this surge.

Despite the challenges, prompt action by fire services has led to significant rescue efforts, saving 837 lives, with April alone accounting for 261 rescues. Animal and bird rescues were also notable, with 1,254 animals and 947 birds saved over the months.
