In the wake of increasing fire incidents in Delhi, Residents' welfare associations (RWAs) are urging households to prioritize fire safety. They advise ensuring unobstructed exits and conducting regular fire drills to prepare for emergencies.

B S Vohra, president of East Delhi RWA Joint Forum, emphasized the need for adequate preparation to transform homes from potential death traps into safe havens. Highlighting the city's escalating fire occurrences, he stressed that these events are crucial warnings that require immediate attention.

Atul Goyal, president of United Residents Joint Action (URJA), raised concerns about the lack of adherence to safety regulations, including the absence of a proper disaster management plan and building norms. The Maharani Bagh RWA recommended maintaining unimpeded pathways and installing smoke alarms, while Ayesha Kapur highlighted the importance of proactive electrical maintenance to prevent fire risks.
