Delhi Braces for Thunderstorms and Hailstorms Amid Improved Air Quality

Several parts of New Delhi have been placed under an orange alert due to the forecast of moderate thunderstorms, rain, and potential hailstorms. The Indian Meteorological Department predicts temperatures will remain below normal, and air quality has improved significantly, with the AQI recorded at 69, indicating satisfactory conditions.

On Tuesday, New Delhi was overshadowed by clouds, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue an orange alert for multiple areas anticipating moderate thunderstorms, rain, and possible hailstorms.

The alert covers regions including Central Delhi, Northwest Delhi, and Shahdara, to name a few. The forecast suggests that the maximum temperature will cap at 33 degrees Celsius, with more thunderstorms expected throughout the day.

Skymet Weather's Mahesh Palawat noted a significant drop in temperatures accompanied by the rains across North India. Meanwhile, air quality levels have notably improved in the capital, with the AQI standing at 69, denoting satisfactory conditions.
