Tragic Blaze Claims Life in Gurugram Slum

A fire caused by a short circuit claimed the life of Robin Das, a laborer from West Bengal, in a Gurugram slum. The blaze rapidly consumed the area, preventing Das from escaping. While fire services controlled the spread, Das could not be saved. An investigation is ongoing.

In a heart-wrenching incident, a 40-year-old man perished in a fire that tore through a slum in Sector 53, Gurugram, on Tuesday night. Police have identified the victim as Robin Das, originally from West Bengal and working as a laborer in the locality.

According to eyewitnesses, the blaze, triggered by a short circuit, engulfed the settlement with alarming speed, leaving Das trapped inside. His daughter and son-in-law, residing in an adjacent slum, were unharmed, sources confirmed.

Emergency services, upon receiving the distress call, managed to prevent the inferno from spreading further. Despite their efforts, the fire claimed Das's life before it was brought under control. Authorities have sent the body for a post-mortem and are conducting a detailed investigation into the incident.
