In response to rising temperatures, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched 13 heatwave response vans, one for each district, on Wednesday. The initiative aims to alleviate the impact of the extreme summer heat across the city.
A newly released heatwave action plan booklet outlines extensive measures including the distribution of oral rehydration solution (ORS) sachets, caps, gamchas, and first-aid kits to combat dehydration and heat-related illnesses.
Additionally, public and private organizations are required to implement work breaks between 1 pm and 4 pm. Schools must ensure student safety and rehydration, while hospitals are being prepped with necessary medications and beds.
