The Bihar government has taken a significant step towards enhancing connectivity in its border regions by issuing a tender for the reconstruction of Raxaul Airport, as announced by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary.
The airport, located in East Champaran district, was established after the 1962 India-China war but has remained non-operational since the 1970s. This initiative, supported by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to rejuvenate the region's infrastructure.
The project focuses on developing airside infrastructure, such as the runway, apron, and taxiway, to improve both national and international connectivity. This reconstruction is expected to boost trade and tourism, thus invigorating the local economy.
