In Dimapur, the commercial heart of Nagaland, civil society organisations (CSOs) and tribal bodies have united against any proposal to relocate the state's only railway station, emphasizing the need for a timely resolution of land disputes to transform it into a world-class establishment.

Addressing the media, Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) President G K Rengma highlighted ongoing hurdles, primarily stemming from land ownership disputes involving 96 legal patta holders. This legal deadlock has not only stalled the first phase, which commenced on 5.73 acres last year, but also poses a risk of relocation outside Nagaland.

Rengma reiterated the necessity of engaging with litigants to appeal for the withdrawal of cases to prioritize the interests of future generations. Plans include dialogues with landowners and government bodies. The council intends to submit a timely resolution plea to the Government of Nagaland, ensuring a smooth and timely completion of the railway station project's transformation.
