The Himachal Pradesh government is undertaking significant urban development projects to revitalize commercial districts in Shimla and Hamirpur. According to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, these projects aim to ease urban congestion, enhance infrastructure, and generate sustainable revenue.

The Sabzi Mandi Central Business District project in Shimla will see an investment of Rs 330 crore, executed in two phases. The first phase, costing Rs 210 crore, is already underway with Rs 160 crore allocated to the Shimla Municipal Corporation and the PWD. The chief minister has set clear deadlines for site clearance to ensure timely project completion.

Meanwhile, a planned City Centre project in Hamirpur will be developed on the site of the old bus stand at a cost of Rs 140 crore. The initial funding of Rs 80 crore is confirmed, with additional funds expected to come from a public-private partnership model.
