Delhi is set to witness a logistics revolution as the government unveils a policy to develop logistics hubs on the outskirts of the city, aiming to alleviate congestion and reduce pollution. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that the upcoming 'Logistics and Warehousing Policy' will incorporate artificial intelligence for planning efficiency.
The enhanced logistics system will focus on route optimization, cost reduction, and faster deliveries. By using digital tracking and AI systems, the policy is designed to make Delhi a modern logistics hub. Investment incentives include a capital subsidy up to Rs 50 crore, interest subsidies, and electricity concessions.
Set under the Master Plan Delhi 2041, the policy will also address job creation, offering incentives for new employment. Warehousing demand predominantly driven by e-commerce prompts robust strategy and location development, with a projected boost to third-party logistics services.
