In a bid to promote sustainable commuting and fuel conservation, Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi traveled to his office using the Metro and an e-rickshaw. Wahi's actions support Prime Minister Narendra Modi's advocacy for increased public transport usage. He emphasized that collective efforts could significantly tackle Delhi's fuel wastage and traffic issues.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), under the mayor's guidance, has issued advisories encouraging employees to maximize public transport usage and carpooling. Standing Committee Chairperson Satya Sharma also joined the initiative by using public transport and advocating for virtual meetings and work-from-home practices.
The MCD's recent directive urges its staff to prioritize Metro and bus travel over personal vehicles and adopt virtual meeting strategies. These measures are part of a broader effort to combat pollution and enhance administrative efficiency in the national capital.
