A massive fire broke out at a storage facility owned by a leading IT company on Rajiv Gandhi Road, prompting a swift evacuation of employees. The incident occurred around 3 pm in Karapakkam, near Sholinganallur, according to local police.

The fire was reportedly triggered by a stray spark during welding activities on the premises, which ignited old electronics and plastic waste. The resulting blaze produced thick black smoke that could be seen for several kilometers, causing concern among nearby commuters and residents in the bustling IT corridor.

"Employees were safely evacuated, and fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported," a police spokesperson confirmed. Firefighting teams have since managed to bring the blaze under control, and cooling operations are currently in progress.
