Torrential rain swept across Bilaundi Pul market in Dhanaulti, flooding shops and houses. The deluge left Cabinet Minister Bharat Singh Chaudhary and MLA Pritam Singh Panwar stranded for over an hour.
Heavy rainfall between 3 and 4 PM caused the Aglar river to swell and debris to block the Nagun-Bhawan-Dehradun state highway. Shops suffered significant damage from the entering rainwater laden with silt.
Local authorities promptly deployed JCB machines to clear roads. The route was reopened after an hour of intensive restoration. Officials are estimating the financial damage incurred by businesses and residents.
