The India Meteorological Department has sounded an alarm over rising temperatures, issuing a heatwave warning for 31 of the 55 districts in Madhya Pradesh, as highlighted by recent data. The intense heat grips regions like Gwalior, Ujjain, and Jabalpur. In a span of Monday alone, areas such as Indore and Sagar saw minimum temperatures of 29 degrees Celsius, while Jabalpur recorded 28.8. Similarly, Datia and Guna noted a temperature of 28.6 degrees Celsius.

Uncharacteristically, Indore witnessed a minimum temperature spike, four degrees above its average, whereas Sagar's markers were 2.3 degrees above normal. With impending temperature highs projected between 42 and 45 degrees Celsius across most parts of the state, the IMD's warnings encompass key cities including Vidisha, Raisen, Khandwa, Ratlam, Guna, Gwalior, Datia, Rewa, Rajgarh, Ujjain, Jabalpur, Sagar, Chhatarpur, and Tikamgarh, alerting residents to prepare for persistent heat conditions.
