Delhi battled oppressive heat on Tuesday as temperatures soared with a recorded minimum of 26.8 degrees Celsius. The meteorological department has issued a yellow alert indicating likely heatwave conditions.
Various city locales reported slightly varied temperatures. Palam's minimum reached 27.5° Celsius, marginally above normal, contrasting with Lodhi Road's 25.6°C, a bit below the norm. Ridge station logged 26.7°C, while Ayanagar hit 27.1°C.
Meanwhile, the city’s air quality nosedived, plunging into the 'very poor' category with an AQI measure of 301 at 9 am, as per the Central Pollution Control Board. Residents brace for a hot day with maximum temperatures potentially reaching 44°C.
