Venezuela's government has reached a significant agreement with the local branch of U.S. conglomerate General Electric, as announced on Venezuelan state TV. Interim President Delcy Rodriguez emphasized the urgency of finalizing the contract to start the project, which promises 1 gigawatt of energy within the first 24 months and over 5 gigawatts in four years.

"This is a historic step for Venezuela, enabling us to restore a service as essential to the life of a country as its electricity supply," stated Rodriguez. The announcement was made alongside Eric Gray, head of GE Vernova's power segment.

While the financial specifics of the arrangement were not disclosed, the partnership represents a crucial move to stabilize Venezuela's electricity supply, a key aspect in the nation's development and infrastructure.
