The Atlanta Hawks' G League affiliate became the first team in the league to hire a woman as a general manager after promoting Tori Miller to the post with the College Park Skyhawks on Thursday. Miller, who was named the Skyhawks' assistant general manager on July 30, 2019, spent time as a basketball operations intern for the Phoenix Suns before her time in the G League. She began her career in the G League three seasons ago with the Hawks' franchise in Erie, Pa., before the team moved to Atlanta for the 2019-20 season.

Former Skyhawks general manager Derek Pierce will continue to oversee Atlanta's scouting department in his role as vice president of player personnel for the Hawks, the team announced.
