Brighton and Hove Albion's 3-2 victory over Manchester United on Sunday has boosted their confidence ahead of next weekend's trip to face Liverpool, winger Anthony Knockaert has said.
Goals from Glenn Murray, Shane Duffy, and Pascal Gross gave the home side the win. Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba replied for United.
"We fully deserved it. It's a great three points to get just before going to Liverpool next weekend," Frenchman Knockaert told the club website https://www.brightonandhovealbion.com/news/2018/august/knockaert-result-gives-us-confidence-for-liverpool.
"It gives us confidence going to Anfield ... with the performance we showed, we'll want to replicate that against Liverpool. It will be another tough game."
Liverpool beat West Ham United 4-0 in their season opener and face Crystal Palace later on Monday.
"We know they're a strong team. They've got some great players but hopefully we can get something," Knockaert added. "If we keep playing like this at home, and improve away from home, it will be a good season for us."
