Los Angeles Dodgers call up LHP Julio Urias

The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled left-hander Julio Urias from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday.

Urias, 22, hasn't pitched in the majors since undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery in June 2017. A starter by trade, he joins the Los Angeles bullpen for the last few weeks of the regular season.

In 11 2/3 innings in the minors this season -- split between Oklahoma City, Class-A Rancho Cucamonga and the Dodgers' Arizona League affiliate -- he posted a 5.40 ERA with 19 strikeouts, seven walks and three home runs allowed.

Urias pitched in 18 games (15 starts) as a 19-year-old rookie in 2016, compiling a 5-2 record with a 3.39 ERA and 84 strikeouts in 77 innings. He was 0-2 with a 5.40 ERA in two starts last season.
