Oklahoma's Murray beats out Tide's Tagovailoa for Heisman

For the second consecutive season, an Oklahoma quarterback won the Heisman Trophy when Kyler Murray was announced as the winner Saturday night at the PlayStation Theater in New York City. Murray beat out two other quarterbacks -- Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa and Ohio State's Dwayne Haskins -- for the award.

Heisman winner Murray apologizes for homophobic tweets

Kyler Murray celebrated his Heisman Trophy win in New York on Saturday night, but not long after the Oklahoma quarterback found himself playing defense. Murray issued an apology via Twitter for using homophobic slurs in social media messages that remained active into the early hours of Sunday morning. Those Twitter posts have since been deleted following Murray's statement.

Reports: Hunt to begin counselling

While the NFL mulls further punishment for Kareem Hunt, the former Kansas City Chiefs running back is seeking counseling for alcohol and anger issues, according to multiple reports. The league is considering three different off-field incidents involving Hunt, the bombshell coming when TMZ released a video showing Hunt pushing and kicking a woman in Cleveland last February. The league reportedly is expected to suspend Hunt for more than six games.
