The first Karting Slalom competition will be staged this weekend at the Kigali Convention Centre located in the capital city of Rwanda. The two-day event will take place on Saturday and Sunday, starting from 10 am to 10 pm.
The participants need to pay a small amount of money to register. The racers will be given two laps to practice and get familiar with the karts before competing in a 1.5 kilometer race in order to qualify for the best eight of the competition, as elaborated by the head of Rwanda Automobile Club (RAC) technical team, Fabrice Yoto.
Yoto clarified that the best eight will then be given 15 minutes of race where the winner will be determined by the pace and number of laps covered during that period of time, as reported by The New Times.
The East African country, Rwanda welcomed the first Kart racing in August 2018. It (Kart Racing) is generally considered as the gateway to higher ranks of motorsport in the world.
