Marseille has sold forward Vitinha to Genoa for €16 million after his loan spell with the Italian club. Vitinha, who previously joined Marseille for a club-record €32 million, scored only six goals in 43 games and two goals in nine appearances for Genoa last season.

Marseille confirmed the transfer of forward Vitinha to Genoa for €16 million on Friday, following a loan spell at the Italian club last season.

Both clubs disclosed the deal without further details. According to L'Équipe, the 24-year-old Portuguese forward originally joined Marseille from Braga for a club-record €32 million in January 2023.

Vitinha's stint with Marseille was underwhelming, with only six goals in 43 games. However, he showed glimpses of his potential at Genoa, scoring twice in nine appearances, as Genoa finished 11th in Serie A last season.
