The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports' Mission Olympic Cell (MOC) has taken several significant steps to support athletes and Para-athletes preparing for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games:

Financial Support for Bhavina Patel: Paralympic Table Tennis medallist Bhavina Patel received approval for financial assistance to participate in the ITTF Para Table Tennis Asia Training Camp 2024 in Thailand. This support also covers provisions for her coach and escort.

Specialized Equipment for Para-shooters:

Para-shooters Manish Narwal, Rudranksh Khandelwal, Rubina Francis, and Sriharsha R Devareddy have been sanctioned specialized sports shooting equipment. Specifically:

Sriharsha R Devareddy: Air Rifle

Rubina Francis: Morini Pistol

Support for procurement of two Javelins (Valhalla 800g Medium NXB and Diana Carbon 600g) for Para-athlete Sandeep Choudhary.

Archery Equipment Procurement:

Financial aid has been sanctioned for the procurement of archery equipment for Archers Ankita Bhakat, Deepika Kumari, and Para-archers Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar.

Training Support in Spain:

Judoka Tulika Maan and her coach have received support for training at the Valencia Judo High Performance Centre in Spain until July 25.

Table Tennis Training in South Korea:

Table Tennis player Manush Shah's request for financial assistance to train under Korean Coach Taejun Kim in Gyeonggi Do, South Korea, and for the purchase of physical fitness equipment has been approved.

Inclusion and Promotion in TOPS Core Group:

Athletes Suraj Panwar, Vikash Singh, Ankita Dhyani, and swimmer Dhinidhi Desinghu have been included in the TOPS (Target Olympic Podium Scheme) Core group.

Athletes Jeswin Aldrin, Praveen Chithravel, Akashdeep Singh, and Paramjeet Singh have been promoted from the TOPS Development to the Core Group.

These initiatives aim to provide comprehensive support to athletes and Para-athletes, ensuring they have the necessary resources and opportunities to excel in their respective sports at the international level. The MOC's actions reflect its commitment to nurturing and enhancing India's sporting talent on the global stage.
