Mumbai City FC has announced the signing of defender Hardik Bhatt on a one-year contract, which will run until the end of the 2024-25 season. The 27-year-old defender is rejoining the Islanders after a loan spell in the second half of the 2022-23 season, according to a press release from the club.
Hardik launched his professional career with ARA FC in Ahmedabad in 2019. He has since played for multiple clubs including Bengaluru United, Hyderya Sports, and Rajasthan United before initially joining Mumbai City FC in January 2023. During his previous stint with the Islanders, Hardik made four appearances in both the Indian Super League and the Super Cup. He was also part of the team that won the ISL League Winners' Shield in 2023.
Following the conclusion of the 2022-23 season, Hardik returned to Rajasthan United, where he participated in 14 matches during the 2023-24 I-League season, providing two assists and helping the team maintain its league position. Overall, Hardik has played 47 games across various domestic tournaments in India, scoring two goals and registering two assists. He now aims to bolster Mumbai City's defense in the upcoming season.
