Ecuadorian Triumph: Richard Carapaz's Historic Win at Tour de France

Richard Carapaz of EF Education-EasyPost claimed a historic solo victory on stage 17 of the Tour de France, becoming the first Ecuadorian to win a stage in the event. Richard Carapaz of EF Education-EasyPost climbed solo to a triumphant victory on stage 17 of the Tour de France, a challenging 178km ride from Saint-Paul-Trois-Chateaux to Superdevoluy.

Marking a historic milestone, Carapaz became the first Ecuadorian to win a Tour de France stage, finishing 37 seconds ahead of Jayco Alula's Simon Yates. Movistar's Enric Mas claimed third, nearly a minute behind.

Carapaz's decisive attack in the mountains, 13km from the finish, secured his victory. Meanwhile, Tadej Pogacar maintained his yellow jersey after a fierce battle in the general classification, with rivals Jonas Vingegaard and Remco Evenepoel close on his heels.
