The International Tennis Hall of Fame will reschedule its enshrinement ceremony to August starting next year, strategically aligning with the eve of the U.S. Open to garner more attention from the tennis community.

The Newport venue further announced plans to introduce a new combined men's and women's 125-level tournament in 2025. This tournament will offer equal prize money and will replace the men's 250-level ATP event, which concludes this week.

The newly scheduled Hall of Fame Open, set for July 6-13, will become the only grass-court women's tournament outside of Europe. Remarkably, it represents the first women's pro tournament hosted by the hall since the 1990 Virginia Slims of Newport.

"We … are thrilled to provide fans with double the tennis starting next summer," said Brewer Rowe, the tournament director.

The hall has a long-standing tradition of hosting a men's tournament following Wimbledon, with the Hall of Fame inductions on Saturday coinciding with the semifinals. This week's final edition of the 250 tournament will see Leander Paes, Vijay Amritraj, and Richard Evans inducted.
