Newly crowned European champions Spain ascended to third place in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday. This comes after their victory over England in the European Championship.
Argentina, fresh off their Copa America win against Colombia, secured the top spot in the rankings. England, following a successful campaign, moved into fourth, overtaking Brazil, who had an underwhelming Copa America.
Venezuela made the most significant improvement, jumping 17 places to 37th after reaching the Copa America quarter-finals. Turkey also saw substantial progress, rising 16 places to 26th after their European quarter-final appearance.
