FC Goa has announced the signing of Serbian midfielder Dejan Drazic, making him the club's first-ever Serbian recruit. Drazic has inked a two-year contract, pledging to don the club's signature orange during the 2024-25 season and beyond. This marks his debut assignment outside the European continent, following a stellar season with Cypriot side Ethnikos Achna FC, where he tallied six goals and 14 assists in 39 appearances last season.
Born in Sombor, Serbia, Drazic began his football career with FK Teleoptik before joining the youth ranks of Partizan Belgrade. He turned professional in 2013 with OFK Beograd in the Serbian SuperLiga, quickly making his mark by scoring his first league goal within a month of his debut. Drazic's career trajectory took him to Spain with LaLiga's Celta de Vigo, followed by a loan spell at Real Valladolid, then to top-flight clubs in Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary.
Drazic achieved significant triumphs at Bratislava, clinching the league title twice and regularly competing in the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Conference League. His career progressed through Turkish and Serbian clubs before he joined Ethnikos Achna FC. Internationally, Drazic has represented Serbia at various youth levels, making notable appearances in the UEFA Under-19 Championship and for the U20 and U21 teams. With 326 appearances, 54 goals, and 48 assists to his name, Drazic brings considerable experience to FC Goa. Head Coach Manolo Marquez lauded Drazic's technical brilliance and versatility, expressing confidence that he will adapt well to Indian football. Drazic is equally enthusiastic, aiming to help the team contend for league and cup titles.
