Mumbai City FC announced on Friday the loan signing of 26-year-old midfielder Hitesh Sharma from Odisha FC. The agreement will see Sharma stay with Mumbai City FC until the end of the 2024-25 season.
Originally from Jalandhar, Sharma developed his skills at the Chandigarh Football Academy and Tata Football Academy (TFA) before beginning his professional career with Mumbai FC in the I-League. His journey in the Indian Super League (ISL) saw him play for ATK, Hyderabad FC, and Odisha FC, showcasing his technical skills and versatility.
With 81 appearances in the ISL and a championship win with Hyderabad FC in the 2021-22 season, Sharma also made his international debut for India in 2018. His multifaceted capabilities are expected to add significant depth to Mumbai City FC's midfield. Both Sharma and Head Coach Petr Kratky expressed enthusiasm about the addition, highlighting his experience and adaptability as key strengths.
