Chhangte and Kathiresan Clinch Top AIFF Honors
India and Mumbai City FC winger Lallianzuala Chhangte and national women's team midfielder Indumathi Kathiresan were awarded the All India Football Federation's (AIFF) male and female Player of the Year awards respectively. The awards were presented at a function by the national football federation, recognizing their excellence and contributions to the sport.

India and Mumbai City FC winger Lallianzuala Chhangte and national women's team midfielder Indumathi Kathiresan won the All India Football Federation's (AIFF) male and female Player of the Year awards respectively at a ceremony on Friday.
Diligently organised by the national football federation, the event recognized the sporting excellence of these players. The 27-year-old Chhangte has recently extended his contract with Mumbai City FC until the end of the 2026/27 season. Indumathi, aged 30, plays for Odisha FC in the Indian Women's League (IWL), apart from her significant role in the national team.
The most Promising Player of the Year award was bagged by David Lahlansanga from the I-League-winning club Mohammedan Sporting. Khalid Jamil of Jamshedpur FC secured the Best Male Coach of the Year award, while Shukla Dutta, a former India player, earned the equivalent honour in the women's section. Dutta, currently coaching the India U-19 team, recently led them to victory at the SAFF U-19 Championships.
