As the boat carrying South Korean athletes passed on the Seine, the announcer incorrectly referred to them as the 'Democratic People's Republic of Korea,' which is the official name of North Korea, in both French and English.

In response, South Korea’s vice minister for sports and culture, Jang Mi-ran, has requested a meeting with International Olympics Committee President Thomas Bach. The National Olympic Committee has officially raised the issue with the Games' organizers, calling for a rectification of the mistake.
