In a dramatic Pool B encounter, skipper Harmanpreet Singh salvaged a 1-1 draw for India by converting a last-minute penalty corner against former champions Argentina. The match took place on Monday.

India struggled initially, missing nine penalty corners before Singh's decisive strike. Argentina took an early lead with a field goal from Lucas Martinez in the 22nd minute. The South American side nearly secured the win, but Maico Casella missed a penalty stroke in the 36th minute.

Though Argentina controlled much of the game and enjoyed superior possession, India's persistent efforts paid off in the dying moments. The draw meant the Rio Olympic champions had to settle despite dominating the play for most of the match.
