Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh: India's Shooting Stars Shine at Olympics
Manu Bhaker made history by becoming the first post-independence Indian athlete to win two Olympic medals in a single edition of the Games. She, along with Sarabjot Singh, clinched the 10m air pistol mixed team bronze. This achievement marks a significant milestone in Indian sports history.
A composed Manu Bhaker created history, becoming the first Indian athlete in the post-independence era to win two Olympic medals in one edition. Bhaker, alongside the unruffled Sarabjot Singh, clinched the 10m air pistol mixed team bronze on Tuesday.
The Indian duo defeated Korean pair Lee Wonoho and Oh Yeh Jin 16-10 at Chateauroux's shooting range, securing the country's second medal. Bhaker snared the women's 10m air pistol bronze earlier, overcoming her disappointing Tokyo 2020 debut.
For Singh, the win was redemption after missing the men's 10m air pistol final. Bhaker and Singh showcased remarkable poise, sealing their victory in 13 rounds as the Koreans succumbed to pressure. Bhaker's next challenge is the 25m women's pistol qualification on August 2nd.
