India Clinches Series with Thrilling Super Over Victory

Head coach Gautam Gambhir appreciates India's Super Over win in the third T20I against Sri Lanka, commending Suryakumar Yadav's captaincy. Despite challenging pitch conditions, India managed to restrict Sri Lanka and win the series 3-0. Gambhir emphasized the need for consistent improvement on turning tracks.

Head coach Gautam Gambhir praised India for pulling off a tenacious Super Over win in the low-scoring third T20I against Sri Lanka for a series whitewash. He called for consistent improvement on pitches assisting sharp turn.

In a contest delayed by an hour due to rain on Tuesday, India struggled against both spin and pace on a fresh pitch, managing to score only 137/9. Despite Sri Lanka's domination, India showed resilience and forced the contest into a Super Over, ultimately sealing a 3-0 series win.

''Guys, congratulations on a great series win. Congratulations to Surya as well, outstanding captaincy and with the bat as well. I asked for something before the start of the game and you absolutely delivered it,'' Gambhir told the team in a dressing room chat shared by BCCI on 'X'.

Gambhir emphasized the importance of improving skills on turning tracks in future matches. Hardik Pandya praised Shubman Gill and Riyan Parag for their crucial partnership, as well as lower-order contributions from Washington Sundar and Ravi Bishnoi.
