Sri Lanka's Injury Struggles Ahead of ODI Series Against India

Sri Lankan pacers Matheesha Pathirana and Dilshan Madushanka will miss the upcoming ODI series against India due to injuries. Pathirana injured his shoulder and Madushanka suffers from a hamstring injury. Additionally, Dushmantha Chameera and Nuwan Thushara are also out due to illness and a fractured thumb, respectively.

Sri Lanka's fast bowling woes continue as pacers Matheesha Pathirana and Dilshan Madushanka are confirmed to miss the three-match ODI series against India in August due to injuries, ESPNcricinfo reported on Thursday.

Pathirana sustained a shoulder injury during the third T20 international against India, while Madushanka is sidelined with a hamstring injury. The injuries compound the hosts' difficulties, with Dushmantha Chameera and Nuwan Thushara already ruled out with illness and a fractured thumb.

In response, uncapped Mohamed Shiraz has been named as a replacement, team manager Mahinda Halangoda informed ESPNcricinfo. The Indian team, having swept the T20 series, will face Sri Lanka in three ODIs on Aug. 2, 4, and 7.
