Waqar Younis Poised to Become Pakistan Cricket Board's Chief Cricket Officer
Waqar Younis, a legendary fast bowler, is likely to be appointed as the Pakistan Cricket Board's Chief Cricket Officer. Having recently relocated from Australia to Lahore, Younis is currently serving as an advisor to the chairman on cricket affairs. The new role would involve him in national selection and central contracts.
Waqar Younis, a celebrated fast bowler and former captain, is on the verge of being named the Chief Cricket Officer (CCO) of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Currently, he serves as an advisor to the chairman on cricket affairs and has joined the PCB in a paid capacity.
According to sources, Younis is expected to transition into a role similar to the one held by Rob Key in the English cricket board, pending approval from the PCB's Board of Governors. This new position will include responsibilities related to the national selection committee and central contracts.
Younis has been acclimatising to his responsibilities by working with various departments to understand international and domestic schedules as well as strategies for upcoming games. Relocated from Australia to Lahore last year, he's committed to making a significant impact in his new capacity.
