Indian archer Pravin Jadhav faced a tough defeat on Thursday, losing 6-0 to China's Kao Wenchao in the men's round of 64 at the Les Invalides. This marks the end of Jadhav's second Olympic campaign without a medal, having made his debut at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Games.

The Chinese archer was in superb form, scoring 10s on six out of his nine arrows. On the other hand, Jadhav, aged 28, managed only four 10s, with Kao sealing the victory in just three sets. Jadhav was also part of the Indian men's archery team, which previously suffered a quarterfinal loss to Turkiye.

On Wednesday, another Indian archer, Tarundeep Rai, was also eliminated from the competition. Facing Great Britain's Tom Hall, Rai saw a balanced first set, with both archers scoring 27 points. However, Rai lost the second set and despite leveling the score in the third, he eventually succumbed to Hall after a tied fifth set, concluding his Olympic run.
