Medical staff provided her with an oxygen mask, and she was conscious as she was taken away for further medical evaluation.

The incident occurred as Potocka exited the water, prompting swift action from a team of medical personnel who arrived within moments. They placed her on a stretcher after about a minute and escorted her off the pool deck. It remains unclear if she received CPR at the scene.

Despite the alarming situation, Potocka managed to complete her race, finishing seventh in her heat with a time of two minutes and 14.20 seconds.
