Sebastian Korda marked a career milestone by winning the Washington Open, an achievement that mirrors his father Petr's victory in the same tournament 32 years ago.
Korda's 4-6 6-2 6-0 victory over Flavio Cobolli on Sunday was historic, making them the first father-son duo to win the same ATP Tour event.
"I've been coming here since I was a teenager," said Korda, noting the deep connection his family has with the tournament. "This is the most special moment of my career so far." Korda also became the first U.S. man to win the Washington crown since Andy Roddick in 2007, fueling hopes to end the U.S. Grand Slam drought.
