Bangladesh 'A' Team's Arrival in Pakistan Delayed Amid Political Unrest
The Bangladesh 'A' team's trip to Pakistan has been delayed by 48 hours due to political turmoil in Bangladesh, following the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The two cricket boards are working on a revised tour schedule. The national team’s Test series in Pakistan also remains uncertain.
The Bangladesh 'A' team's arrival in Pakistan has been postponed by 48 hours due to ongoing political instability in Bangladesh, triggered by the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced this update on Monday, following a notification from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
''The BCB and PCB have been in regular contact for the past two days and will continue to work together on the revised tour itinerary with further details to follow in due course,'' a spokesperson for the PCB stated.
The Bangladesh 'A' team was initially scheduled to land in Islamabad early Wednesday to play two four-day matches and three 50-over matches between August 10 and August 27.
Meanwhile, the impending arrival of Bangladesh's national team to Pakistan on August 17 for a two-Test series now appears uncertain. The PCB is awaiting confirmation from the BCB, given the tumultuous situation in Bangladesh, where the military has announced plans to establish an interim government. This series is part of the ICC's World Test Championship.
