The Indian cricket team is set to make history with a two-day day-night tour match against Australia's Prime Minister’s XI, held at Canberra's Manuka Oval on November 30 and December 1. This game will serve as preparation for the highly anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series starting in Perth on November 22.
Cricket Australia (CA) announced the fixture, noting its significance in bolstering the long-standing cricket relationship between India and Australia, a bond that has deepened since India's independence in 1947. This match marks the first time since the 1991-92 season that the two cricketing giants will vie in a five-Test series.
CA highlighted that while this will be the fourth encounter between India and the PM's XI, it will be the first to span over two days. The previous 48 fixtures, dating back to 1951, were traditionally one-day affairs.
