Dani Olmo Returns to Barcelona in Stunning Transfer

Spain's attacking midfielder Dani Olmo has signed a six-year contract to rejoin LaLiga giants Barcelona, transferring from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig, the Spanish club announced on Friday.

As Barcelona prepares to start their domestic season next week at Valencia, the 26-year-old Olmo has inked a deal that keeps him at the club until June 2030. He returns to Barcelona, where he spent seven years in the youth academy before joining Dinamo Zagreb at the age of 16. Although the transfer fee was not disclosed, reports suggest it to be around 55 million euros ($60 million), with a buy-out clause of 500 million euros.

Olmo played a pivotal role in Spain's Euro 2024 success, ending the tournament as one of the top scorers with three goals and earning a spot on UEFA's team of the tournament. Earlier on Friday, Olmo announced his departure from RB Leipzig after more than four years, during which he played 148 matches, scored 29 goals, and won two German Cups.
