Injury Forces Sri Lanka Stars Out, South Africans Join St Kitts & Nevis Patriots for CPL 2024

In an unfortunate turn of events, Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga and Nuwan Thushara's injuries have paved the way for South Africa's Tabraiz Shamsi and Anrich Nortje to join the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots squad for the upcoming Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024.

The St Kitts & Nevis Patriots squad for the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 has undergone a significant change as South Africa's Tabraiz Shamsi and Anrich Nortje step in to replace the injured Sri Lanka players, Wanindu Hasaranga and Nuwan Thushara.

While Nortje will be making his CPL debut, Shamsi is no stranger to the league, having played 32 games, including 27 for the Patriots, and claiming 33 wickets at an economy rate of 7.06. The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) board confirmed Hasaranga's hamstring injury that ruled him out of the ongoing ODI series with India.

Thushara's injury occurred during a training session, leading to a broken finger in his left hand, further impacting Sri Lanka's plans. The Patriots' updated squad for CPL 2024 includes notable names such as Kyle Mayers, Rilee Rossouw, Evin Lewis, and more. (ANI)
