India's medal tally now stands at five bronze medals and a silver, the latter secured by javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra on Thursday.

Aman's 13-5 victory continues India's tradition of wrestling success, a streak that began with Sushil Kumar's bronze at the 2008 Beijing Games.

Aman had earlier lost to Japan's top-seed Rei Higuchi in the semifinal, setting up his bronze-medal battle with Darian Cruz.
