Manager Paulo Fonseca is pleased with AC Milan's recent acquisitions, but he cautions that player departures are imminent as the new season kicks off against Torino on Saturday. As the new Portuguese coach revealed, the addition of French midfielder Youssouf Fofana from AS Monaco is nearly finalized, with no further signings expected.

Milan has bolstered its squad by adding striker Alvaro Morata, and defenders Emerson Royal and Strahinja Pavlovic. 'After Fofana's arrival, our recruitment will be complete. Now, we must focus on player departures,' Fonseca informed reporters. 'We have many players, and it's challenging to manage with a large squad.'

'Our goal is to aim for the top. While we can't claim superiority over others for the league title, we aspire to compete for the Scudetto. Inter are the reigning champions, and Juventus, Napoli, Atalanta, and ourselves have the right attributes to compete,' Fonseca stated.

Fonseca, in his two months as Milan's coach, expressed satisfaction with the team's adaptation to his methodologies. 'I joined Milan at the perfect moment in my career. The atmosphere is positive from day one, and we've progressed beyond my expectations,' he commented.

'We anticipate a different and more challenging game than those in pre-season. We aim to assert our identity from the very first match,' he concluded.
