India Triumphs Over Bhutan Despite Being Reduced to Nine Men in SAFF U20 Championship
India secured a 1-0 victory over Bhutan in their SAFF U20 Championship Group B opener despite being reduced to nine men. Monirul Molla's decisive goal and India's resilient defense helped them maintain their lead even under considerable pressure from a numerically-superior Bhutan side.
India clinched a crucial 1-0 victory against Bhutan in their opening SAFF U20 Championship Group B match on Monday, despite being down to nine men by the 69th minute.
Defense was the cornerstone of India's strategy after Monirul Molla netted a headed goal in the 37th minute, a lead they were keen to extend. However, a fracas between players resulted in three red cards, two for India and one for Bhutan, changing the game's dynamics.
Despite creating a strong offensive against India, Bhutan couldn't capitalize on their one-man advantage. India's defense remained unyielding and ensured they secured all three points.
