Sachin Tendulkar Flags Off Energetic Mumbai Half Marathon

Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar flagged off the Mumbai Half Marathon at the Jio World Gardens on Sunday morning. Tendulkar expressed his delight at the significant progress the competition has made over the years.
Speaking after the flag-off ceremony, Tendulkar remarked, 'The atmosphere here is very energetic and exciting... There were more than 20,000 participants. The number of female participants has gone up by 10 percent compared to last year.' He further noted that the event included visually impaired participants, as well as over 1,000 schoolchildren who took part in a specially organized run.
Sachin Tendulkar, the leading run-scorer in international cricket with 34,357 runs and 100 centuries in 664 international games, continues to be a revered figure in the sports world. He was also a key member of the Indian team that clinched the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup. (ANI)
