Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina has highlighted the formidable bowling attack of Bangladesh, cautioning that the team should not be underestimated as India gears up for an important series. Raina made these remarks during the Legends League Cricket (LLC) event in Delhi on Thursday.

Speaking to ANI, Raina said, "Now, a team for Tests will be formed. Top players playing the Duleep Trophy is a nice initiative by BCCI. Red-ball cricket provides a lot of insights." Raina added, "You cannot take Bangladesh lightly; they have a fine spin bowling attack and some seasoned players. This series will serve as excellent match practice for the tour to Australia."

The Duleep Trophy, heralding the start of the domestic red-ball cricket season, will showcase India's top stars and emerging talents, commencing September 5, 2024, in Andhra Pradesh and Bengaluru. Star batters like Rishabh Pant, Kishan, Shubman Gill are set to feature. Following the series against Bangladesh from September 19 to October 1, India will play against New Zealand in a three-match test series from October 16 to November 5, gearing up for the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

Praising Rishabh Pant's ICC T20 World Cup campaign, Raina lauded Pant for his "passion, hard work, and determination." With 171 runs and 14 dismissals, Pant played a pivotal role in ending India's 13-year ICC World Cup drought. Discussing the Impact Player rule in the IPL, Raina expressed his preference for "old school cricket" with 11 players, noting the rule's potential to alter the game significantly.

The Legends League Cricket will be hosted in India and Qatar from September 11 to October 5 this year. (ANI)
