Epic Encounters in Europa: Manchester United and Tottenham's Thrilling Fixtures
Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are set to face challenging matches in the Europa League's new 36-team format. Highlights include United hosting Rangers and traveling to face Fenerbahce, managed by Jose Mourinho. The tournament, with a league phase of eight teams per club, concludes in Bilbao on May 21, 2025.
Manchester United will host Scottish side Rangers and travel to Turkey to face Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce in the new 36-team Europa League following Friday's draw. Alongside them, Tottenham Hotspur joins the competition after finishing fifth in the Premier League and United's FA Cup victory secured their spot.
The league phase consists of four pots with nine clubs each, based on club coefficients. Each club will compete against eight different teams, playing four home and four away games, with fixtures determined by seeding and aided by a computerized draw system. Every match outcome contributes to the overall league standings.
Jose Mourinho, who guided Manchester United to their 2017 Europa League victory, will face his former club. Tottenham, the 1972 tournament winners, return to European contests after a year-long break. Under the management of Ange Postecoglou, they will play AS Roma and travel to face Rangers, among other fixtures.
The Europa League final is scheduled to take place in Bilbao, Spain, on May 21, 2025.
