Indian powerlifters Sakina Khatun and Parmjeet Kumar faced significant challenges at the Paris Paralympics, finishing seventh and eighth in their respective weight categories.

Sakina, a 35-year-old Commonwealth Games bronze medallist, achieved 86kg in the women's 45kg event after succeeding in just one of her three attempts. Her previous best was 93kg at the Tokyo Games.

Meanwhile, Parmjeet, competing in the men's 49kg category, managed a 150kg lift on his first attempt but did not improve on subsequent tries. Both athletes, affected by polio, struggled to replicate their earlier successes at this event.
